Job Summary:

Instruct enrichment classes to groups of adult learners. Subject/skill areas vary widely and change with the interests of the community. Classes offered include, but are not limited to:

Art, Ceramics, Computer Applications, Consumer Education, Cooking, Dance, Foreign Language, Health & First Aid, History, Home & Garden, Music, Outdoor and Environment, Personal Growth, Physical Education/Fitness, Professional Development, Religion, Science, Vehicle Safety, Writing and Special Interest.

May include day and/or evening classes, weekdays and/or weekends. Number of hours and meeting times per week may vary. Number of weeks per term from one to eleven.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in a subject, skill, interest or hobby with an enthusiasm for sharing your passion with adult learners. Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience, especially to adult students. Training and/or certification in skill area subjects.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Classroom setting with no special physical requirements, unless dictated by the nature of the subject area (e.g., Physical Education).

Essential Duties:

Plan and prepare class material to share with adults in a group class setting.

Be sensitive and flexible to meet the needs of students within the class description and subject area.

Represent LBCC and promote lifelong learning to the community of learners in your class.

Check class enrollment and keep attendance.

Arrange for access to classrooms and media as needed, and purchase supplies, if applicable.

Community Education classes vary in length and time. They are held in at LBCC’s Albany campus; Benton, Lebanon and Sweet Home Centers, and at many other community sites throughout Linn and Benton Counties.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
